Federal Bar Council presents
The Hearsay Debate
November 19, 2025
12:30pm – 1:30pm
Credit Info: TBD
Live Webinar
The hearsay rule is a cornerstone of American evidence law. But does the rule still make sense in today’s digital communication age? Is a contemporaneous text message truly less probative than a witness’s hazy memory? What makes a statement of intent more reliable than a description of something that happened five minutes ago? Should the rule bar the use of an out-of-court writing if the author is on the stand and subject to cross-examination? Join our distinguished panel as they debate the motion: "The rule against
hearsay is an impediment to the search for truth.”
